Over the past 30 years, Asysco has successfully completed migration and transformation projects for over 60 customers in almost every major industry. Our wide range of experience gives a fair familiarity with most of the due diligence processes and relevant business models in these industries.

Banking, and finance-related processes, still heavily depend on mainframe and legacy systems running their core business processes.
Most modernized front ends (customer services, mobile, and web banking) are all based on x86 technologies, the core systems of the record still very much run on mainframe and other legacy technologies.
Whether you have a homegrown system (COBOL/CICS or IMS based) or a customized package like Hogan, Asysco’s transformation approach, replacing proprietary legacy components with x86 equivalents, is the fastest route to innovation as it:
Immediately breaks the vendor lock-in
Significantly (50-80%) Reduces cost moving maintenance budgets straight into innovation
Allows flexible cloud deployments
Has Agile and DevOps as standard Modus Operandi
Enables incremental and agile innovation due to a much larger x86 based innovation and talent pool
Allows effective integration with 3rd fintech partners like risk management, regulatory compliance, product and pricing, analytics, blockchain, and AI and so on
Since 99.9% of the world’s IT-centric R & D goes to x86, the mainframe and legacy technologies such as COBOL and LINC are increasingly disadvantaged. During (business) challenging times, agility, and flexibility are key drivers for dealing with the significant changes in our society.
Using our automated technology, Asysco has helped many financial services companies reliably and effectively migrate these business-critical (COBOL and LINC) applications to a native x86 environment, replacing all the proprietary legacy artifacts with native x86 equivalents.

Government
Local, state and federal government systems
Big changes in economic uncertainty have led to a dramatic increase in all areas of citizen support requirements (health and human services, child support, ..). This drives a strong requirement to be more efficient and agile whereas, at the same time, most of these systems are based on legacy technologies (COBOL, Natural, Adabas, CICS, IMS, IDMS) running on mainframes rather than open standards.
Legacy causes the agencies to be locked into high cost, proprietary technologies requiring specialized skills to keep them running. Especially during challenging times, mainframes and other legacy technologies exposed their lack of resilience and high risk.
At the end of 2019, NASCIO CIOs, considered their top 10 priorities for 2020 to be:
Security and Risk Management
Digital government
Cloud Services
Consolidation and Optimization
Customer Relationship Management
Budget, Cost Control, Fiscal Management
Legacy Modernization
Data Management and Analytics
Broadband/Wireless Connectivity
Innovation and Transformation through Technology
Probably, by now, legacy modernization and cloud have both moved up in order to deal with scalability and flexibility requirements, transitioning to the cloud.
By transforming legacy applications to modern, x86 centric technologies Asysco already helped many government agencies drastically reduce cost, increase flexibility, and enable data and business process integration. These agencies have managed to consolidate and optimize their infrastructure by standardizing their current enterprise architecture roadmaps.
Many governments around the world have worked with us to migrate and transform business-critical legacy applications and we understand and work within the budgetary lifecycle of public sector entities as well as the procurement and regulatory rules that govern information technology acquisitions.
The government Cloud landscape
Asysco’s AMT GO has a proven track record on both Microsoft Azure as well as Amazon’s AWS. Our zRef benchmark results prove that AMT GO sets the benchmark in terms of performance achieving nearly 29,000 MIPS.
Microsoft offers Azure for a government that:
is a government-only cloud, available for U.S. state, local and federal government agencies – Government tenants are physically and logically separated from other tenants
is Qualified under the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP)
ensures all operating personnel is cleared U.S. citizens.
This dedicated government cloud will give agencies the ability to design and deploy a combination of on-premises, private, public, or hybrid cloud environments based on their security requirements.
Asysco is registered with GSA (U.S. General Services Admin) with SIN’s 132-32, 132-33, 132-51.

Insurance
The insurance landscape has changed drastically over the last few years. The sector has entered a phase of profound transformation. Insurtech companies are providing added value services possibly taking away market share and requiring flexible integrations with existing systems.
Most insurance companies still depend heavily on mainframe and legacy systems running their core business processes. Policy Admin Systems (PAS) and Claims Processing are often either homegrown or based on vendor packages like DXC’s Ingenium and Vantage or Unisys’ Unisure. These packages have been heavily customized over decades as everyone has had the right to modify these for over 20 years. The programmers that built and customized these legacy systems are retiring and it is increasingly difficult to find the knowledge and skills needed to maintain them.
Especially during (business) challenging times, agility and flexibility are key drivers for change.
Using our automated technology, Asysco has helped many insurance companies to reliably and effectively migrate these business-critical (COBOL and LINC) applications to a native x86 environment, replacing all the proprietary legacy artifacts with native x86 equivalents. These included both Unisure and Ingenium as well as bespoke PAS systems.
Typical benefits from the migration are multi-fold:
Financial: TCO reductions of 30%-70% by eliminating vendor lock-ins are the norm
Risk: replacing de-supported and legacy technologies with industry-standard technologies greatly reduce risk and enables the use of standard skills in the market
Technological:
replacement of legacy technologies eliminating risk and reducing cost
ability to quickly introduce Agile and DevOps principles (ServiceNow, CI/CD, Azure DevOps, ..)
ability to leverage (public) cloud either for development and test environments or even for production
future proof, agile and resilient platform
Business innovation: all customers experienced the migration as the best starting point for further innovation:
replacing hard-coded business logic with standard packages (e.g. Pega BPM for flexible business rules, replacing self-developed customer interaction standard CRMs and so on)
being able to flexibly and quickly integrate new products and services in an agile way

Retail
Larger retailers typically face similar challenges: a homegrown system that was developed multiple decades ago when commercial packages didn’t fit the bill. The system is heavily adapted to fit the needs so difficult to replace with nowadays’ commercial packages like SAP. At the same time, innovation and integration are challenging to achieve, and flexibility to scale in line with business demands, both up and down, is impossible.
Asysco has helped many retailers with our transformation approach, replacing proprietary legacy components with x86 equivalents, is the fastest route to innovation as it:
Immediately breaks the vendor lock-in
Significantly (50-80%) Reduces cost moving maintenance budgets straight into innovation
Allows flexible cloud deployments
Has Agile and DevOps as standard Modus Operandi
Enables incremental and agile innovation due to a much larger x86 based innovation and talent pool
Even if a commercial package is the end goal, our transformational approach ensures that you get there effectively by first landing you in a “fit for purpose” x86 based environment from which it’s much easier to transition to commercial packages, either in the cloud or on-premise.

Big changes in economic uncertainty have led to a dramatic shift in the way that education is delivered. This drives a strong requirement to be more efficient and agile, whereas, at the same time, many of the universities and high schools still have systems that are based on legacy technologies (COBOL, Natural, Adabas, CICS, IMS, IDMS) running on mainframes rather than open standards.
Legacy causes the agencies to be locked into high cost, proprietary technologies requiring specialized skills to keep them running. Especially during challenging times, the cost of these systems needs to be effective and in line with the education situation.
By transforming legacy applications to modern, x86 centric technologies, Asysco already helped many universities drastically reduce cost, increase flexibility, adopt cloud, and enable data and business process integration. With flexible financing arrangements, Asysco can help migrate these systems to a pay per use model without prohibiting upfront investments.
